Strikers Point Lodge and Cabins, Armstrong, Ontario, Canada
Strikers Point Lodge and Cabins offers Lake views in the Armstrong region of Ontario.
Striker's Point is located 46 miles from the Waweig Lake Seaplane Base, on Whitewater Lake within the boundaries of Wabakimi Provincial Park. Whitewater Lake features 26 miles of superior fishing walleyes ranging from two to 10 pounds, pikes ranging from four to 35 pounds, and good chances of catching northern pikes over 40 inches and sturgeons as big as 90 pounds.
At Wilderness North, all time spent here is quality time. So Striker's Point boasts a character log lodge with a large dining room and cozy lounge with satellite television. Delectable breakfasts and home-cooked dinners are served daily and guests have the choice of shore lunch or boxed lunch to take onto the lake.
An added attraction to staying at Striker's Point is a visit to Best Island, home of recluse Wendell Beckwith. Originally from Wisconsin, Beckwith was involved in patenting the mechanism used to produce the ballpoint pen. Beckwith's rustic, private getaway is where he spent his later days. Experience a bit of history with the half-hour boat ride to Best Island.
